The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team moved a step closer to an undefeated regular season with a 25-12, 25-8, 25-11 sweep of Santiago Canyon on sophomore night at Irvine Valley Monday evening.
The Lasers, ranked No. 1 in the state, improved their record to 21-0 overall and 15-0 in the Orange Empire Conference.
The sweep was Irvine Valley's 18th of the season and 13th in conference play.
The Lasers then went out and took care of business, playing an efficient match that took just a little over an hour to finish.
Aguilar led the way with 16 kills, eight digs and two aces on the night. Aguilar currently ranks fourth in the state and first in the conference with 4.58 kills per set. She is also 12th in the state in third in conference in hitting percentage at .364.
Ka'awaloa added five kills and four digs, Salaya chipped in five kills and freshman outside hitter Alyssa Vortouni had four kills.
Ramseyer finished with 22 assists in two sets, while Mahan had 10 assists and four digs. Freshman defensive specialist Renata Bath chipped in four digs for IVC.
Irvine Valley, which is the last undefeated team in the state and has already wrapped up the conference title, gets a week off from match action.
With a bye on Wednesday and a holiday on Friday, the Lasers don't play again until next Wednesday.
IVC wraps up the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Orange Coast at 6 p.m.
