Former star indoor and beach player at Irvine Valley, Allison Cook, is a new assistant coach for the Laser women's beach volleyball team.

Cook played collegiately at Irvine Valley College (2011-13) and then at the University of Arizona (2013-15).

After playing club for the OC Volleyball Club, Cook spent her first three years at Murrieta High before transferring to Edison High for her senior year.

Cook played both indoor and beach volleyball at Irvine Valley for Tom Pestolesi and then played beach volleyball at Arizona.

She helped IVC to a second-place finish in the Inaugural Intercollegiate Sand Volleyball Conference State Championship in 2012.

Her coaching career includes time with the Sand Soul club team, as well as a coach with the Crean Lutheran High beach team, as well as working the USF indoor summer camps.

Cook earned her Bachelors degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Sports and Society from the University of Arizona in 2015.

Cook, 33, and her husband Luis Palos were married on January 12, 2024 and reside in Costa Mesa.
