Rylie comes to Irvine Valley College after 7 years as the pitching coach at Long Beach City College. During that time the Vikings had a .634 winning percentage.
In 2019 and 2022, Ogle helped the Vikings to a SCC-South Conference Championship.
In 2017, Ogle helped lead the Vikings to their second-consecutive SCC-South Conference Championship. His pitchers averaged a 3.48 overall ERA, with a 2.92 ERA in conference play.
Two Viking pitchers received First-Team All-Conference recognition, while one pitcher brought home Second-Team All-Conference honors.
LBCC fell in the CCCAA Sectional Playoff Round against Grossmont after strong offensive and defensive performances in Regional and Super Regional play.
The Vikings ended their season with an overall record of 30-16-1, going 17-5 in conference play.
Ogle was a two-time All-South Coast Conference pitcher for the Vikings in 1998 and 1999 before being selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 21st round of the 1999 MLB Draft.
He elected to take a scholarship to UC Santa Barbara where during the 2001 season he compiled a 10-2 record and helped propel the Gauchos to a 40-win season.
Ogle was named second-team All-Big West Conference and was also selected to UCSB’s All-Decade Team.
His .857% career winning percentage ranks as UCSB’s all-time high.
Following his senior season, Ogle was drafted in the 28th round by the New York Mets and posted a 2.93 career ERA.
Ogle graduated from UCSB with a BA in history in 2001 and earned his master’s degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania in 2017.
He currently resides in Fountain Valley with his wife, Maryann, and his two daughters Resse (4) and Summer (2).
