A Laguna Beach native, Enver Soobzokov is a big part of the Irvine Valley men's coaching staff.
After playing for Laguna Beach High, Soobzokov played collegiate basketball at Irvine Valley, Cal State Stanislaus and Cal State San Bernardino.
He helped lead Cal State San Bernardino to a West Regional title and the squad made the Elite 8.
Following his collegiate years, he played professionally in Jordan helping the country qualify for the first time in history for the World Cup in 2010.
He also participated and won multiple Jordan League titles, Asia Club and Arab Championships.
Some of his achievements include 2012 MVP of Jordan League, 2006 best three-point shooter of Asia Champions Cup, second-team all-Asia in 2006, and first-team all-Asia in 2005.
He has served as an NBA Scout from 2012-2018 with the LA Clippers overseeing top prospects in the G League for several seasons.
Soobzokov's keen eye for talent and deep understanding of the game were instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential players.
In 2019 he worked with the Phoenix Suns scouting the NCAA, international, and G league prospects, where he continued to apply his expertise in player evaluation and development.
Coach Soobzokov has also served as the head assistant coach on the Jordanian National Team for the FIBA World Cup Qualifications in 2018.
In 2023, he founded Laguna Beach Elite, a youth sports club dedicated to developing young athletes in the Laguna Beach area.
The club aims to provide high-quality training and mentorship to aspiring basketball players, helping them reach their full potential both on and off the court.
