Irvine Valley's women's beach volleyball team took on two more NCAA Division 1 programs on Friday afternoon at home.
The Lasers fell to both Cal State Bakersfield and Missouri State by the score of 4-1, but IVC had some solid performances.
Irvine Valley pairs pushed their opponents in several contests.
In Irvine Valley's match with Missouri State, the top team of sophomore Taira Ka'awaloa and freshman Megan Ramseyer earned a hard-fought, 21-19, 21-18 win. Ka'awaloa closed out the match with a service winner.
The teams of Aguilar and Bath and Austin and Salaya each went three sets with their opponents before losing. Lau and Entesari also played well, but fell, 21-18, 21-16.
Irvine Valley's overall record on the year slipped to 1-5 overall, but four of those losses have come to four-year programs.
Cal State Bakersfield defeated Missouri State, 3-2, in the other match on the day.
IVC is back in action next Friday as it hosts a four-way event that includes the University of Nebraska, Concordia University and Long Beach State. The matches get underway at 10 a.m.
