Irvine Valley's flag football team defeated the University of Redlands, 33-7, on Wednesday at home.
The Lasers improved their record to 6-3 overall.

Irvine Valley took a 7-0 lead right off of the bat in the game. Freshman quarterback Akayla Chaple scored a touchdown on a run from three yards out.
Chaple then found freshman Marisol Gongora for the extra point.
Chaple completed five passes for 57 yards on the opening drive and also ran three times for 20 yards, including the three-yard score.
On Redlands first offensive play of the game, sophomore Avril Ho picked off a pass for the Lasers.
Two plays later, Chapel threw a 15-yard strike to Priscilla Preciado to put Irvine Valley ahead, 13-0, with 5:58 left in the first quarter. The extra point was incomplete.
Redlands came back with a score and extra point to make it 13-7 toward the end of the first quarter.
The Lasers stretched their lead to 19-7 midway through the second quarter. Berlin Barraza picked off a Redlands pass. And several plays later, Chaple threw a 10-yard pass to Crystal Cervantes to make it 19-7.
Chaple went 6 for 6 on the TD drive for 39 yards.
Chase Dionio picked off one more pass for the Lasers with seconds left in the first half.
Irvine Valley scored two more touchdowns in the second half. Chaple found Barraza for a 18-yard score with 4:11 left in the third quarter and then converted the two-point conversion with a completion to Dionio.
And the Lasers capped their scoring late in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard touchdown from freshman Mia Lacy to Ho to make it a 33-7 final.
IVC plays at the Norco Round Robin Friday at Redlands.
The Lasers will compete in three games on the day, taking on Norco, Saddleback and Cal Baptist.
