Men's basketball team holds banquet for 2024-25 season

Irvine Valley's men's basketball team celebrated its 2024-25 team with a season-ending banquet on Wednesday night at the Newport Rib Company.

The Lasers finished with a record of 17-14 overall, 9-8 in the Orange Empire Conference and made the So. Cal. Regional Playoffs under first-year head coach Jason Garey.

Irvine Valley honored sophomore players Ethan Tauber, Ammon Allan, Josiah Reed, Ben Starks and Kyle Pearson and also handed out some awards.

Freshman post player Matt Mowers was named the most valuable player of the squad along with earning the best rebounder award.

Sophomore forward Josiah Reed was named the defensive player of the year and most inspirational player for the squad.

Freshman point guard Allen Moser earned most improved player honors and sophomore guard Ammon Allan was selected as the most academic player for IVC.

Several Irvine Valley players also earned all-conference honors and that feature will be posted next week at ivclasers.com
