The 2018 schedule for the Irvine Valley men's soccer team has been released.
The Lasers open the early part of their season with a few road trips.
Irvine Valley goes on the road to face off against one of the top programs in the country in its 2018 opener.
IVC travels to Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz. for a contest on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m.
The match is part of a celebration for the 50th anniversary of Yavapai.
Yavapai has one seven national championships in the 30-year history of its soccer program. It went 23-3-3 in 2017 to finish third in the nation.
Irvine Valley returns to Southern California and is at Rio Hondo on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
The Lasers then travel to Northern California to take part in the Hartnell Tournament in Salinas and will take part in games on Friday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 2.
Irvine Valley will play its first home match of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 4 against El Camino at 1 p.m.
IVC takes on Southwestern in San Diego on the road on Sept. 5 to finish off the non-conference part of its schedule.
The Lasers open Orange Empire Conference play at Fullerton on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 3:00 p.m.
IVC plays its first home game in conference against Orange Coast on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 3:00 p.m.
Irvine Valley will play 14 conference matches in all with the final one of the regular season coming on Friday, Sept. 9 at Santiago Canyon at 3:00 p.m.
The Lasers had another fine season in 2017.
IVC ended the year ranked No. 13 in the final United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division III Poll.
Irvine Valley finished the year with a record of 12-5-5 overall and was 9-2-3 in the OEC for second place.
IVC dropped a tough match in penalty kicks at Mt. SAC, 4-2, in the second round of the CCCAA Southern California Regionals.
The Lasers were ranked No. 13 in the state in the final regular season poll and were seeded No. 7 for the CCCAA South Regional Playoffs.
