Irvine Valley's men's soccer team had four players named all-Orange Empire Conference on Monday at the end of the season coaches meeting on Monday
Sophomore forward Benjamin Asabi and freshman forward Max Kleinhammes were each named to the first team and sophomore goalie Nathan King and sophomore midfielder Gibae Kim were each picked second team.
Asabi and Kleinhammes led conference players with 11 goals apiece during the regular season. Asabi added two assists.
Asabi finished with 24 points and Kleinhammes had 22 points for the Lasers.
King was one of the top keepers in conference. He recorded the most saves out of any goalie in the conference with 99 and had a .798 save percentage.
Kim was a steady players throughout the season for IVC. He finished with one goal on the year.
Freshman forward Daniel Vargas from Orange Coast was named the conference's MVP after scoring eight goals and finishing with nine assists. He led the conference with 25 points during the regular season.
And Greg Aviles was chosen as the coach of the year after guiding Fullerton to its second conference title in a row.
Irvine Valley, which ended the regular season with a record of 8-7-7 overall and was 4-5-3 in conference play, awaits the announcement of the playoff pairings on Tuesday.
