Irvine Valley's women's basketball team continued to make history Friday night.
The Lasers wrapped up an undefeated Orange Empire Conference season, winning at Fullerton, 58-38.
Irvine Valley, ranked No. 5 in the state and third in Southern California, improved its record to 25-3 overall and 12-0 in the Orange Empire Conference.
It is the first undefeated conference campaign for the Lasers. The 25 wins is the second most in a season in school history.
IVC had already earned its first conference title since the 1998-99 season.
Sophomore center Breanna Turner led the way for Irvine Valley with 14 points and 20 rebounds in the win at Fullerton.
Freshman guard Jordan Coleman contributed 15 points and six steals.
Irvine Valley shot 39.0 percent (23 of 69) from the field as a team and helped limit Fullerton to 25.0 percent (13 of 52) shooting.
IVC out-rebounded Fullerton, 58-32, and out-scored the Hornets, 28-6, in the paint and, 27-9, on second-chance points.
Laser players and coaches celebrated after the victory by returning to IVC and cutting down the nets inside their own Hart Gymnasium.
IVC will now await the release of the Southern California Regional playoff brackets on Monday. Irvine Valley is expected to be one of the top four seeds.
