Two-year all-Orange Empire Conference women's basketball player Emily Freeman recently wrapped up her junior year at NCAA Division II University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Freeman, a former standout shooting guard for the Lasers, started 24 of 26 games and averaged 5.9 points per game.
She averaged a team-high 28.5 minutes per game and also shot 33.6 percent from three-point range for the Nanooks.
Freeman scored 154 points on the season.
She scored a season-best 12 points in two games and also had season-highs of four assists and four steals in other contests.
In her sophomore year at IVC in 2023-24, Freeman averaged 9.1 points per game and led the team with 69 made three-pointers.
Freeman was a two-year starter for the Lasers, a team captain in 2023-24, was named second team all-OEC in 2022-23 and 2023-24 and was a three-time IVC scholar athlete.
IVC finshed with a record of 21-8 overall and was 12-2 for second place in conference in 2023-24. The Lasers were ranked in the top 10 in Southern California all season long.
Irvine Valley also made the So. Cal. Regional Playoffs in both her seasons.
The former San Juan Hills High player was also named IVC's fremale Scholar-Athlete of the Year and IVC Character Champion in 2023-24.
