Former Irvine Valley star beach volleyball player Barett Nolan had quite a spring season for NCAA Division I St. Mary's.
The 5-10 graduate student had a record of 20-5 this past season, starting on the fifth court for the Gaels along with senior Hannah Glick.
The overall team finished with a mark of 26-12 overall and 8-3 in the West Coast Conference.
The Glick and Nolan pairing were also honored with an AVCA Top Flight Award and were named the WCC pair of the week on Mar. 23, 2026.
The pair ended up tied for third with the most wins as the fives in program history with 20.
Nolan rattled off seven straight wins to open up her Saint Mary's career.
She logged a pair of ranked wins on back-to-back days against Washington to earn the WCC Pair of the Week honors alongside Glick.
The Top Flight program, now in its eighth year, recognizes beach pairs who compete in at least 15 matches together at a specific flight and win at least 75 percent of their matches.
This year, 80 pairs representing 35 schools—from all three NCAA divisions, NAIA, and Two-Year Colleges—have earned Top Flight status.
Glick and Nolan were one of just three WCC pairs to earn this recognition, and one of just 17 five-flight pairs to be honored.
Nolan spent the previous two seasons at NCAA Division II Colorado Mesa.
In two seasons with the Mavericks, Nolan amassed a record of 39-26, playing in the third, fourth and fifth flights.
After a solid 18-12 mark in her first year with the Mavericks, Nolan led the team with 21 wins in 2025, including a pair against the Gaels, giving her the most wins of any player on her team.
She began her collegiate career at Irvine Valley College, where she was a teammate with former Gael Chloe Swanson.
Nolan and Swanson both helped lead the IVC Lasers to the 2022 3C2A state championship.
Nolan also helped Irvine Valley win back-to-back Orange Empire Conference titles and she was a two-time all-conference honoree.
