A two-year starter at Irvine Valley, sophomore infielder Chase Quezada has committed to NCAA Division II St. Edwards in Texas.
Quezada, out of Woodbridge High, batted .263 as a freshman and played in 75 games over two years for the Lasers.
As a leadoff hitter, he finished his career at IVC with 55 hits, 28 RBI, six doubles, one home run and 43 RBI.
Quezada also had 26 steals, including 16 this past spring, which led the team.
His on base percentage in 2024 was .447 and .367 in 2025.
Quezada can play all over the field. He played shortstop, second base and in the outfield for the Lasers.
Quezada is headed to a St. Edwards team in Austin that has been solid in the Lone Star Conference.
The team had a record of 37-23 overall and went 31-17 in conference for third place this spring.
The Hilltoppers also made the NCAA Division II South Central Regional tournament.
