Irvine Valley two-year starting catcher Aaron Serrato has committed to Sul Ross State University in Texas.
Serrato, out of Capistrano Valley High in Mission Viejo, is the fourth player from the 2025 IVC team to head to a four-year college, following pitcher Tyler Eastham, first baseman Jackson Snitko and infielder Chase Quezada.
Serrato played in 37 games this past spring and batted .267 with two home runs, 11 doubles, 19 runs and 23 RBI.
He had at least two hits in 10 games, including going 3 for 5 with two runs scored and three RBI in Irvine Valley's 14-8 victory at Ventura on Jan. 31.
In his freshman year in 2024, Serrato played in 30 contests and batted .256 with three home runs, four doubles, three triples and 19 RBI.
Sul Ross State University plays in the Lone Star Conference and is in its final year of transitioning to NCAA Division II.
