Irvine Valley's men's soccer team had a bye from Orange Empire Conference action on Friday, but the Lasers found out earlier in the week that they had moved back into the California Community College Athletics Association state poll.
The Lasers, who went into Friday's action in a battle for first place with Golden West, were ranked 13th in the state this week.
The top five teams in the rankings were Fresno, Mt. SAC, Santa Rosa, De Anza and Golden West.
The six through 10th teams were Hartnell, Feather River, Oxnard, Rio Hondo and Lake Tahoe.
Santa Ana was No. 11, Taft No. 12, Irvine Valley No. 13, Evergreen Valley No. 14 and San Diego City No. 15.
The Lasers tied Santa Ana, 1-1, on Tuesday in a key conference match-up to take their record to 13-4-2 overall and 8-2-2 in conference.
IVC had a one point lead over Golden West heading into Friday's action. Golden West was scheduled to play Fullerton.
Irvine Valley will close out the regular season next week with a huge match at Golden West on Tuesday at 3 p.m. before hosting Norco on Thursday at 3 p.m.
Rivera paces the conference in assists with 11.
Goode also ranks second in points in the conference with 30 with Rivera third with 29 points and Elder fifth with 24 points.
Freshman goalie Blake Sigler is third in the conference in goals against average at 1.15 and second in the conference in saves with 79.
