Flag football team is at No. 16 in the nation in latest rankings

Irvine Valley's flag football team improved its record to 8-1 overall with three wins in the Let It Fly tournament event on Friday at MiraCosta.

The Lasers defeated MiraCosta, 21-13, East Los Angeles, 32-6, and then El Camino, 33-0.

In the latest Women's College Flag Football rankings, the Lasers are ranked No. 16 in the nation.

This includes community colleges and four-year schools.

Next up for Irvine Valley and second-year head coach Sami Logan is a match-up with Cypress on Thursday at home at 4:30 p.m.

It is the first Orange Empire Conference game of the year for the Lasers. Fullerton and Golden West will play at 3 p.m. also at IVC.
