The Irvine Valley men's tennis team is on top once again.
The Lasers captured another Orange Empire Conference title, defeating Fullerton on Thursday, 9-0, at home.
The victory improved IVC's record to 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the OEC.
Irvine Valley, the defending state champion, is currently ranked No. 1 in Southern California and is one of the favorites for the state crown.
The Lasers swept through the doubles round on Thursday and then won all six singles matches.
In doubles, IVC's top team of freshmen Philip Neuman and Steven Anderson won, 8-0.
The No. 2 squad of freshman Humam Alajeely and sophomore Nevin McCann came out on top, 8-2, and on the third court, freshman Paul Herrschelmann and freshman Ruben Dam won, 8-2.
In singles action, sophomore Nevin McCann battled and won in three sets. He captured a third-set tiebreaker (10-3) at No. 1 singles.
And sophomore Bradley Yung, sophomore Jonathan Hinkel, sophomore Sam Shakiba, freshman Lenard Allan Bo Marek and sophomore Kazuyuki Ohya all won easily in straight sets for the Lasers to finish the day.
Yung and Ohya each earned, 6-0, 6-1 victories for IVC.
Irvine Valley plays again next Tuesday.
The Lasers finish the regular season at home against Orange Coast at 2 p.m.
