Irvine Valley's men's tennis is one win away from its second state title and fifth in program history.
IVC defeated Glendale, 5-0, at home in a regional final on Saturday to move on to face Foothill on Apr. 22 in Ventura for the state crown.
The Lasers won all three doubles contests to start the match and then captured two easy singles wins to close it out.
On Saturday, IVC's top doubles team of freshmen Philip Neuman and Steven Anderson won, 8-6, the Nol. 2 duo of freshman Humam Alajeely and sophomore Nevin McCann cruised, 8-2, and the third team of freshman Richard Petery and Jonnathan Hinkel won, 8-6.
Alajeely moved Irvine Valley to within one match of the victory with a 6-0, 6-1 trimph on the fourth court and Neuman closed things out with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.
