Irvine Valley's baseball team is off to a 10-1 start, hand made another leap in the California Community College Baseball Coaches state poll.

The Lasers won 10 straight games to start the year and then battled in a 4-2 defeat, the first of the season last Saturday at home.

Irvine Valley is scheduled to play again Tuesday at home against Grossmont at 1 p.m., weather permitting.

The Orange Empire Conference seems to have no weaknesses as the whole 8-team league made the cut for Week #4 of the CCCBCA Home Run 30 Rankings (Feb. 9-15).

Topped by Santa Ana at No. 5, the roll call of the OEC is Irvine Valley at eight, No. 16 Riverside City, No. 17 Cypress, 23rd Golden West, No. 25 Saddleback, new tied for 30th Fullerton and Orange Coast.

All eight squads are at least two games over .500 and the combined record of the conference is 64-26, a .711 win percentage.

West Valley hangs on to that coveted top spot for now.

Only two teams remain undefeated after three weeks of play in No. 2 Fresno City (11-0) and third-ranked Ohlone (12-0).

Palomar is the new South leader at No. 4.

The Big 8 boasts six teams in the Home Run 30 with San Joaquin Delta leading the bunch at No, 7, followed by Modesto at 10th, Sacramento City is No. 15, Folsom Lake No. 18, Santa Rosa JC No. 20, and Sierra at 24th.

Glendale fell two rungs on the ladder to to sixth overall.

El Camino slipped a bit to No. 9, but the rest of the South Coast is a polar opposite of the OEC as those other eight teams are all below .500.

The SCC has a combined record of just 34-65 (.343...yikes), including a rough 3-9 start to 2026 by defending 3C2A state champion Mt. San Antonio.

The biggest leaps were made by Skyline up 16 spots to now No. 11 and Modesto, up 15 slots.

Despite the OEC's success, Saddleback tumbled the most, down 15 positions.

The Bay Valley made noise with both Yuba at No. 26 and Los Medanos at No. 28 joining the rankings as well as Orange Empire's new members Fullerton and Orange Coast.

Seventeen SoCal teams and 15 North squads occupy places in the Home Run 30, which is 32 this week.
