The Irvine Valley women's soccer team just missed earning a spot in the top 20 in the state in the first California Community College Sports Information Association poll.
The Lasers have a record of 4-0 after receiving a forfeit victory over Cerro Coso on Tuesday afternoon.
IVC is off to its best start in years and has out-scored opponents, 22-2, on the season so far.
Saddleback, Cypress, Modesto, San Francisco and Long Beach City were ranked as the top five in the poll.
In all, the Orange Empire Conference had five teams receive points with Saddleback (332), Cypress (251), Orange Coast (99) and ranked 15th, Golden West (86) and ranked 17th and Irvine Valley (39).
The Lasers have been led by sophomore forward Kuuipo Laumatia with five goals and two assists, freshman midfielder/forward Maggie Contreras with two goals and two assists, sophomore forward Megan Beal with two goals and five assists and freshman goalie Alexa Peterson, who hasn't allowed a goal in three starts so far.
The Lasers play again Friday at LA Harbor at 2 p.m.
