Soccer player Nikki MacDonald is headed to Missouri Valley

Irvine Valley women's soccer player Nikki MacDonald has committed to NAIA Missouri Valley College.

MacDonald, a sophomore midfielder and forward, played in 39 matches and started 35 contests for the Lasers during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

She ended her IVC career with 10 goals and 12 assists for 32 points.

MacDonald, out of Edison High in Huntington Beach, totaled five goals and two assists in the 2024 season and was even better last fall with five goals and a team-high 10 assists.

She ranked tied for second on the squad with her five scores.

MacDonald had a special game early in the season when the Lasers defeated Grossmont, 8-1, at home, finishing with two goals and two assists on the afternoon.

She also recorded two assists in a tough 3-2 loss to Golden West during Orange Empire Conference play.

Irvine Valley ended with a record of 11-9-1 overall and 5-8-1 in conference play and just missed the 3C2A So. Cal. regional playoffs.

She is headed to a Missouri Valley team that 18-1-4 overall and 11-0-2 to capture the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

The Vikings then reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship.
