Women's soccer comes out on top at Victor Valley, moves to 3-0

Irvine Valley's women's soccer team scored the final two goals, both in the second half, and beat Victor Valley, 2-1, on the road Tuesday night.

The Lasers moved their record to 3-0-0 overall.

Victor Valley took the lead just three minutes into the game on an unassisted goal by Amari Gonzalez.

But the Lasers, who outshot Victor Valley, 23-4, continued to put on pressure.

And Irvine Valley tied the match early in the second half. 

Sophomore forward Nikki MacDonald scored in the 48th minute.

IVC sophomore forward Kuuipo Laumatia continued her star start to the 2025 season with the game-winning goal in the 58th minute.

Laumatia has five goals for Irvine Valley through three contests.

MacDonald now has scored five goals for the Lasers, who have outscored opponents, 19-2, on the year.

Freshman goalie Alexa Peterson played all 90 minutes in goal for Irvine Valley.

The Lasers are scheduled to play at Cerro Coso next Tuesday, but the game could be canceled or forfeited due to lack of players for the Coyotes.

Irvine Valley does play at LA Harbor on Feb. 19 at 2 p.m.
