The 2026-27 Irvine Valley men's basketball schedule is released

The Irvine Valley men's basketball schedule has been released for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Irvine Valley, under head coach Jason Garey, wil start the campaign with a slew of home games over the first two weeks of the season.

The Lasers play two scrimmages to start pre-season play and then host Grossmont on Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. in their first officia game before then having their four-team Irvine Valley Classic Nov. 5-6 with Canyons, Cerritos and Ventura.

Two more home games follow for the Lasers with MiraCosta on Nov. 13 and then Mt. San Jacinto on Nov. 18.

Irvine Valley travels to the Monterey Peninsula Tournament from Dec. 3-5. and then hosts Mt. SAC on Dec. 19 and then LA City on Dec. 30.

IVC starts its Orange Empire Conference schedule with two straight road games.

It begins at Cypress on Wed., Jan. 6 at 7 p.m., 2027 and then plays at Santa Ana on Fri., Jan. 8.

IVC finished with a record of 17-13 overall and made a trip to the So. Cal. Regional playoffs last season.
 
Sophomore star post player Matt Mowers was named first team all-Orange Empire Conference for the Lasers for the second straight year after another stell season.
 
The 6-6 Mowers, out of Trabuco Hills High, averaged 15.3 points, shot 58.1 percent from the field, and also contributed 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists for the Lasers in 2025-26. He has recently committed to Rogers State.
 
 
Ahmad Alhammouri, a 6-3 freshman guard/forward out of Western High, averaged 13.9 points and 3.1 rebounds a game for the Lasers and was selected second team all-conference this past season.
 
He shot an impressive 38.1 percent from three-point range on the year.
