Irvine Valley's men's basketball team captured a big win at the buzzer, 61-59, on a rebound and putback bucket by freshman standout Ahmad Alhammouri.
Irvine Valley stayed in the 3C2A So. Cal. playoff race and improved its record to 14-11 overall and 4-7 in conference.
Alhammouri finished with 19 points on a solid 7 of 13 shooting from the field with four rebounds and a steal on the night.
Sophomore post player Matt Mowers added 18 points and nine rebounds for the Lasers in the win.
Irvine Valley plays again on Thursday in its final home game of the regular season against Orange Coast at 5 p.m.
