Former Irvine Valley men's soccer two-year player Fred Becovic had a solid year for NAIA Westcliff University in Irvine in the fall of 2025.
He played in 16 matches and started eight contests.
The senior defender added one assist to his defending duties.
Westcliff cruised past Simpson, 4-0, to capture the California Pacific Conference Tournament championship and punch its ticket to the NAIA national tournament.
The Warriors defeated Oklahoma City, 1–0, in Tulsa in the first round of the national tournament and saw its postseason run end with a 3-0 loss to No. 2-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan, which was a program that played for the NAIA national championship two years earlier.
But the final score can't touch the story of Westcliff's season.
Westcliff closed the year at 12-5-2 overall, 6-1-1 in the Cal Pac, unbeaten in five neutral-site matches, and once again among the final 32 teams standing in the nation.
Becovic helped IVC finish with a record of 12-4-6 overall and 7-6-1 in the Orange Empire Conference for second place in 2023. Irvine Valley fell, 1-0, in double overtime at Mt. SAC in the playoffs.
Becovic played in 20 matches and started 17 contests for the Lasers.
He had an assist in Irvine Valley's key 2-1 win over Cuyamaca early in the year.
Becovic also played for the Lasers during the 2018 season when IVC went 8-9-3 overall and 5-6-3 in conference play and made the playoffs.
He finished with two goals and two assists on the year, including scoring a game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory over Orange Coast.
