Several IVC men's soccer players were recognized at the annual Irvine Valley Scholarship Awards Ceremony in Hart Gymnasium on Friday morning, celebrating hard work, discipline and athletic and academic success for the Lasers over the last two years.
"Our student-athletes are recipients of financial contributions toward tuition costs to study and or play at four-year schools," Irvine Valley coach Conor Ward said.
"This group helped build a true player-led culture, won an Orange Empire Conference title and now graduate this spring with their AA degrees before moving on to the next chapter of their journeys."
Among the players honored were Luca Meinardi (UC Irvine), Carter Cooper (Point Loma), Finn Monk (undecided), Cristian Sanchez (Concordia), Tristan Amezcua (Central Arkansas), Ethan Kofi Adu-Gyamfi (UC Merced) and Yahya Alsadeq (Long Beach State).
Recent stories on Amezcua and Kofi-Gyamfi on continuing their athletic and academic careers are posted at ivclasers.com and more will be forthcoming.
