The Irvine Valley men's soccer team dropped its first Orange Empire Conference match of the season on Tuesday at home, falling to Golden West, 3-2, in a hard-fought match.
The Lasers led, 2-0, going into the latter stages of the contest.
But the Rustlers never gave in and got on the board in the 77th minute, scored again shortly after and finished the game off with a header goal off of a corner kick in extra time.
Irvine Valley's record went to 9-5 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
Freshman defender Michael Baumgaertel and freshman midfielder Cade Williams each scored goals for the Lasers.
The team had a hard practice on Thursday to get ready for its next match on Friday. The Lasers play a conference match at Orange Coast at 3 p.m.
Jesus Martinez was there at practice to capture photos ahead of the OEC away contest at the Pirates.
