Irvine Valley's men's soccer team moved three points ahead of the field in the Orange Empire Conference with a 2-0 win at Santiago Canyon Friday afternoon.

The Lasers now have two matches to go, hosting Fullerton Wednesday at 3 p.m. and playing at Golden West Friday at 3 p.m. in the regular season and conference finale.

Irvine Valley dominated Friday's contest, out-shooting SCC, 20-3, incuding, 10-1, shots on goal.

IVC scored first with another header goal by freshman defender Michael Baumgaertel off of a free kick from freshman midfielder Sungho Yun in the 38th minute.

The Lasers put the game away five minutes into the second half when freshman forward Andrew Roldan put in a shot off of a deflection.

Irvine Valley freshman goalie Sansiro Murata had to make just one save in the contest, and that came in the first half.

Baumgaertel scored his sixth goal of the season and Roldan hit his team-leading 10th goal of the year.

The Lasers are currently in the top 20 in power points in the 3C2A for the So. Cal. Regional playoffs.
