In its lone game this week, the No. 10 in the state Irvine Valley's women's basketball team went on the road and captured a 74-53 Orange Empire Conference win over Riverside.
Irvine Valley moved its record to 16-3 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
Riverside went to 6-14 overall and 0-4 in the OEC.
IVC sophomore guard Symantha Barnett led the way with 27 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
It was a career-high for Barnett, who is now averaging 12.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game on the year.
She made 13 of 17 free throws in the contest for the Lasers.
Sophomore wing Alexis Price added 13 points, five rebounds, two steals and four blocks and sophomore post player Gianna DeForest contributed 10 points and eight rebounds for Irvine Valley.
Sophomore forward Neryah Lokeni also had a solid game for IVC with eight points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Irvine Valley led, 32-15, at the half and, 52-31, heading into the final period.
And the Lasers led by as many as 26 points late in the fourth quarter.
Salota Patetefa led Riverside, finishing with 18 points (6 for 14) with seven rebounds.
Irvine Valley plays a key conference game at No. 3 in the state Orange Coast next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
