The Irvine Valley women's basketball team captured the Orange Empire Conference title outright on Friday with a impressive 77-53 victory at Fullerton.
The Lasers had already earned a share of the title with a 57-47 win at Santa Ana Wednesday under second-year head coach Claire Gocke.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 24-4 overall and 10-2 in the conference.
It finished a game in front of Orange Coast, Cypress and Saddleback, which each tied for second in the OEC with marks of 9-3.
IVC won its last five games of the regular season, out-scoring those five opponents by 16 points, 28 points, 12 points, 10 points and then Fullerton by 24 points on Friday night.
The title, was IVC's first since the 2021-22 campaign when the team went 12-0 in the conference and ended up making the semifinals of the state tournament.
On Friday at Fullerton, the Lasers received star performances from its sophomores.
Alexis Price led the way with 25 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Symantha Barnett finished with 24 points, five rebounds, two assists and three blocks. She went 10 of 18 from the field.
And Kivonni Williams and Neryah Lokeni each contributed 10 points. Lokeni also had nine rebounds, six assists and two steals and Williams ended with five rebounds and two steals.
The Lasers shot 54.2 percent (32 of 59) from the field as a team and limited Fullerton to just 29.9 percent (20 of 67).
Irvine Valley will be one of the top four seeds in the upcoming 3C2A So. Cal. regional playoffs.
The full playoff brackets will be released on Sunday.
