Irvine Valley's women's basketball team, which is in second place in the Orange Empire Conference, hosts first place Saddleback in a showdown on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Lasers are ranked No. 10 in the state.
Saddleback has a record of 18-5 overall and 6-1 in the Orange Empire Conference.
The Bobcats lead the OEC and are ranked No. 12 in the state.
Saddleback split games last week, losing to Orange Coast, 62-54, last Wednesday and then defeating Fullerton, 70-52, on Friday.
In the win over Fullerton, Kassidy Beach scored 32 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Bobcats. Kalynne Mendez finished with 15 points and three assists and Mariana Mina added 11 points and seven assists.
On the year, Beach is averaging 16.0 points, Makayla Rutledge averages 11.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, Nina Saiki averages 11.5 points and 4.3 assists per game and Mendez is averaging 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for the Bobcats.
Irvine Valley has a record of 19-4 overall and 5-2 in the OEC.
IVC sits in a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings.
The Lasers defeated Fullerton, 69-42, at home last Wednesday and then fell to No. 7 Cypress on the road, 54-47, last Friday.
In the defeat, Alexis Price had 11 points and four rebounds, Kivonni Williams had 10 points and six rebounds and Symantha Barnett had 10 points.
The Lasers shot just 36.2 percent from the field as a team.
On the year, Price is averaging 14.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game, Barnett averages 13.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game and Williams averages 10.7 points and 6.4 rebounds a game for the Irvine Valley.
Irvine Valley hosts two games next week. The Lasers play Riverside on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and then host Orange Coast on Thursday at 7 p.m.
